Do you install standby generators or home batteries?
No. Home Backup Supply does not install equipment. Whole-house standby generators and hard-wired home battery systems must be installed by your own licensed electrician, and by a licensed plumber where a gas line is involved, following local code. Your installer is responsible for any permits your town requires. Plug-in power stations and portable generators need no installation.
Do products come with a warranty?
Yes. Products are covered by their manufacturer's warranty. Coverage and length vary by brand and model, and are listed by the manufacturer.
Which size do I need?
Make a list of what must stay on during an outage (fridge, sump or well pump, furnace fan, lights, internet, medical devices) and for how long. Send us that list through the contact form and we'll help you choose between a power station for essentials, a home battery for longer outages, or a generator for heavier loads.
Can I use these for an RV, cabin or apartment?
Yes. Power stations and solar generators are also used in RVs, at campsites, in off-grid cabins, and in condos or apartments where a fuel generator isn't allowed. Battery units produce no exhaust; fuel generators must only be run outdoors, away from windows and doors.
